A Ontario farming College (OAC) began around 1873 as an associate agricultural college of the University of Toronto. Its number 1 building was Moreton Lodge, placed in which Johnston Hall nowadays stands, which involved schoolroom, residences, the library, & the dining-room. (Many buildings constructed when you took this period of time come however the a share of campus life in todays world, including President's Home, Raithby Home, & Day Hall.)
Later, a Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) became one of iii innovation colleges of the University of Guelph in 1964. (A more ii were a Ontario Veterinary College and the Macdonald Institute.)

History
A OAC opened in May 1, 1874 with an enrollment of 28 students. A OAC administration was housed within Moreton Lodge until 1931, when a building was dismantle to produce way for Johnston Hall. A OAC's agents stand resided within Johnston Hall ever since.
A course of study has went across many overhauls all over a years:
1877 - one-season sheepskin program expanded to 2 years;
1887 - degree program begins;
1891 - short courses offered to general public;
1901 - degree program adds a 4th season;
1926 - graduate program begins;
1988 - Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Environmental Science computer program commence;
1995 - "Experience Agriculture" programme for B.Sc. (Agr.) program begins.
