A Ontario farming College (OAC) began around 1873 as an associate agricultural college of the University of Toronto. Its number 1 building was Moreton Lodge, placed in which Johnston Hall nowadays stands, which involved schoolroom, residences, the library, & the dining-room. History A OAC opened in May 1, 1874 with an enrollment of 28 students. A OAC administration was housed within Moreton Lodge until 1931, when a building was dismantle to produce way for Johnston Hall. A OAC's agents stand resided within Johnston Hall ever since.
